Since some time I cannot print ot the printer. When I print the job is restarted in the printer queue and never goes through. I try to scan on the printer and I get the error  'Memory is low. Job cancelled'.

I noticed that when the printer is not connected to the network (using cable) scanning works. I have connected the printer to the Wireless home network and scanning gives the low memory problem again.

I recently changed the home internet provider and network and it looks like thathas caused the problem. Still, the rest of the network is working fine - I do not know if something has been saved in the initial printer setup.

Please help!

Welcome to HP Forums,

This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips,

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂

As I understand, you were getting an error message "Memory is low, Job canceled"

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

Did your issue resolve after changing the internet service provided?

Are you still getting any error message while trying to print?

Could you elaborate the issue?

Once I have the information, I'll help you further 🙂

Keep me posted!

Cheers 🙂

Thank you for the reply.

The issue started after changing the Internet service provider and is still there. The problems are the following:

- I cannot print from my computer (the job keeps restarting)

- I cannot use the printer Copy function when the printer is connected to the Internet (via ethernet or Wifi)

I noticed that when the printer is not connected to the Internet (Wifi is off and ethernet cable is not connected), the Copy function works properly.

I tried resetting the printer (power on and touch the lower right corner of the screen until reset message appears). I also tried reinstalling the drivers on my PC. Nothing works. As soon as I connect the printer to the Internet it stops working.

It looks like you were interacting with Flower_Bud, but she is out for the day. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.

I suggest you restore the Printer to Factory Defaults and then connect the Printer back to your Network

1. On the product control panel, touch the Setup button.

2.Scroll to and touch the Service menu.

3.Scroll to and touch the Restore Defaults button, and then touch the OK button.

4. The printer automatically restarts.

1. To connect the printer to a wireless (Wi-Fi) network, on the printer control panel, touch the Wireless button.

2.Touch Wireless Menu, and then touch Wireless Setup Wizard.Select the network name from the SSID list, or enter the network name if it is not listed.

3.Use the keyboard to enter the passphrase, and then touch the OK button.

4.Wait while the printer establishes a network connection.

Next follow the instructions on Page 94 - 95 in this User Manual to update the Firmware: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04474163

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you 😀

Thanks.

I followed the steps you provided, reset the printer, connected it with a network cable on a switch and updated to the latest firmware. Unfortunately the error is not fixed. I removed the printer driver and installed it again and tried to print a test page but the job stays in the printer queue and switches from 'Printing' to 'Printing - Restarting' indefinitely.

I managed to scan a document from my computer though so this means that the printer is connected properly to the network. What could be causing the printing problem? Could it be a firewall related issue? Note that I have not changed anything related to the firewall since the time the printer was working properly.

I recommend you delete the driver at the root level and retry, follow the steps below:

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose `Delete' or `Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between "printui.exe" and "/s")

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/swdetails/hp-color-laserjet-pro-mfp-m277-series/708... to download HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL5 (64-bit) and install it.

Keep me posted, how it goes!

I tried the reset option, still the same problem.

I tried connecting through Wifi, I set a static IP, 192.168.0.100 and installed the drivers again. The printer was found on the network, drivers were installed succesfully but Print test page failed again. Please see attached image.

Making a copy from the printer again gives the low memory error. I am very disappointed. The printer is brand new - only 20 - 30 pages were printef until now. I am a programmer with 30 years experience and this is the first time I have a problem with a printer that I cannot solve.
