I've answered your question on your earlier post and i'll re-arrange it here.

The exit sensor is too small a thing to be sent to you.

I have it spare with me for more than five pieces and i'm glad to give you one or two but I'm in Taiwan where it makes it impossible.

You can try to modify it by yourself by gluing something onto it.

As to the tension you may try to find it from some cartridge's they may look alike but you might have to modify it a bit but i think it'll work.

I hope you can find a way to solve it.

I'm using HP 5L myself without the cases means that the 5L is naked.

I'm using it in this way for years without any problem.

You can make the broken sensor back alive by using a thin pin which looks like the picture i post.

I've done this before for many times and it always works.

You need to fire it and pierce it into the broken sensor then modify to its length needed and bend it a little.

But if you let the pin left too long or too short it'll make problem it needs just to be needed enough.

Hi Many thanks for all you help, I`ve managed to repair the flag and make a spring and the prnter now prints a test page OK..whoopee!

However, I think what caused the original problem has resurfaced ,whereby  its picking up about 4 sheets of paper at once and jamming.

I know from other posts that this is down to the "seperation pad" and this was probably a design error.

I think the supply of the repair kit is now exhausted,so it looks as if I`ll have to have a go at fixing it.

Do you know what the original design problem was ? was it that the rubber pad was a shade too thin or was it the wrong material? Someone has suggested sticking a slice of 2mm thick cork to the old pad.

If I know what the original problem with the pad was then I can have a think about some possible cures

Regards Johnm
