HP6040mfp

I have a HP6040 that had 'Initializing Scanner' displayed and a red LED on the 'Go' button.

I have run all the scanner & ADF diagnostics which appear to run correctly.

I have also substituted the scanner control board (SCB) and the scanner memory DIMM that is located on the copy processor boad (CPB)

After rebooting the printer, the scanner carriage moves then the printer shows the 'Initializing Scanner' meesage and the 'GO' LED turns from green to red and the printer remains in that state.

Has anyone any ideas on where I should go from here ?  - CPB/Formatter/Memory ?

Thanks

You could try swapping out the entire scanner assembly with another if you happen to have access to another 6040. Otherwise swapping the scanner assembly might be the best bet. Check the connection between the scanner assembly and the main printer unit. There is usually a cable somewhere that can be reseated.
