HP CM1415fnw
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

HP CM1415fnw won't print in magenta but all other three print fine.

Take these all four cartridges to another CM1415fnw print fine no any problem.

Bring another CM1415fnw's known good cartridges to this bad one still not printing in magenta.

Run an engine test by opening rear & front door under power-off then power-on and close both doors in ten seconds.

It prints out all four colors fine.

So i replaced the formatter still all the same as above.........

I'm lost.

Can anyone point me out what to do next? In my mind I am going to change to another spare CM1415 but use this bad one's formatter & DC controller. But before doing that last step I am hopeing to krown what's going wrong.

Thank you for your help.  (Sorry for my poor English I'm not good at it.)

Hi I would like to assist to the best of my ability to solve your problem.I hope the information i supply will be of help.

It sounds like the cartridge is not being read by the machine. You should check the contacts on the machine side.Make sure that they are in contact with the cartridge.Refit the cartridge and retry.Hope this will help.

Thank you for your help.

I did have tried what you said have checked and cleaned the contacts on the machine side but no use.

And as what i said before the magenta did print when do an engine test so it should'nt be the contact problem, it looks like to be the formatter but after replacing it still without any change. That's why i'm lost......

I'll run a NVRAM to see what will happen.

Sorry for asking but are you using original toners?I had on another machine that the generic toner gave me that problem.Maybe consider loading the latest firmware onto the machine.

Firmware was update to the newest already but cartridges mix with genuine and 3rd party, they worked all the time and all four of them move to another CM1415fnw still print fine but that another CM1415fnw's cartridges put into this one still magenta missing. But as you can see magenta prints when running engine test.

Tricky problem. The only other thing on my mind is that the laser unit is not working. If this machine has a laser for each cartridge. But then again you should see the toner level on the status page if i'm correct.Sorry that's what i can came up with right now.But will think abit and let you know.

I am still working on it......

Restore Default & NVRAM all useless, I'm changing C/M/K new 3rd party one by one still nothing much in progress.

I have tried four sets of cartridges including one set new 3rd party all failed, still no magenta color but all other three are fine and every one of all of these four sets of cartridges can be read out its percentage of toner left.

Everything seems print fine but no magenta color.

I got crazy!

Seems like you have tried everything. You mentioned that you changed the formatter board.Maybe just redo the formatter board installation.Maybe one connector is not properly seated and could give some mistakes. When ever i get into such a mesh i restart from scratch.Much to ask but maybe it could resolve the problem.Hope that this will help you.

Thank you for kindly help.

Yes, I did unplug & plug and change to another good one still the same.

I changed the print-cartridge drawer just now and came into a new error message 10.1001 won't get away from it.

Now I can't print anything anymore which is worse than before.
