Hope someone can help!

Only recently purchased my HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP 479fdw (about 4 days ago)  and after scanning documents (about 7 pages)  via the ADF there was a paper jam. The paper jam was removed which was minor, however the error message remained.

I have done the following:

  • Checked the ADP extensively, there is no evidence of any paper left behind
  • Removed the paper tray, dropped the internal tray - all clear
  • Opened the duplex section on the back - all clear
  • Opened the cartridge drawer tray - all clear
  • Turned off the printer from the power socket, disconnected all cables i.e. network cable
  • Reset the printer to factory settings

Every action above fails to clear the error 'Document Feeder Jam', this error disables the use of the ADF.

Please help!!!

Likely a small bit of paper jammed in a flag. Try flossing the adf path with  piece of stiff paper. Force it through in the normal direction of travel.

If the unit is only  few days old I would suggest you return to place of purchase for warranty replacement.
