If the printer cannot boot then it may be bricked and need replacement.  A firmware update could be responsible or a failur in the power source.

Easiest thing you can do is try to plug the printer directly into another wall outlet (with no other cables attached) and see if it can complete the boot.  If it can then explore the power setup in the original location.  If not then give HP a call and see if there is any remaining warranty on the printer.

If warranty is expired then the printer may be dead.  You can try getting a quote from a local HP repair shop and see if its worth repairing.  Otherwise salvage the printer and purchase a new one may be your best option without a more specific error message on what is getting stuck in the boot process.

Glad you were able to get your printer working as indicated by you marking one of the posts as a solution. However with the way the HP forum works when a solution is marked the credit is given to the author of that post. Thus quoting my post in your own marks yourself as the solution author, instead of the comments you are drawing attention to. If its not too much hassle or there isn't anything else to the story please mark the original post as the answer so that credit is received.
