Hi! The discussion https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/HP-Laser-1102w-trouble-connecting-wifi-with-Mac/m-p/... is almost exactly my problem, so I have followed the advice till I got stuck.
The printer is set to factory defaults, no SSID and authentication for the wireless - which is what I am trying to set up.
Everything goes fine to set a new printer (System Preferences), choose it and get to the screen for the Options, Utility, Open Printer Utility. Click the HTML Config tab ........ and I don't get an HTML page displaying in my browser.
Just checked, and the same (no HTML config page) for the printer connected to USB (but thankfully that is still working).
I have downloaded and installed HewlettPackardPrinterDrivers5.1.dmg
I use Firefox Quantum 57.0.1 (64 bit) and it is set as my default browser. Perhaps a config issue there????
Any help would be most welcome!!!!

Hi there! Glad for your response.
The problem occurred when I moved and have to connect through a different WiFi router.
I allowed Firefox to do an update.
App store shows updates outstanding for garageband and Itunes / Safari and security update 2017-005 10.11.6
Followed links and got to https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-laserjet-pro-p1102-printer-series/4110394/model/4110306/docu... which is great.
Reveals the problem that the Wireless button on the printer flashes, does NOT go steady, times out.
I will try to relocate the printer closer to the router - in case it is a signal strength issue - and test again.
Will let you know what happens.
Regards, Geoff

Hi there! Finger problem - I thought I had responded earlier but can't find my response on the forum.
The links you supplied were helpful. Working through shows a problem : The Wifi light never goes steady - showing no contact is being made, which would explain everythig!
I have ruled out a distance / signal strength issue. Will try to dig out the router that worked at the old location - and see if that reveals a make / config / protocol issue.

Hi @GeoffStansfield,
It looks like the printer and the laptops are connected to different networks. Or else, might be some issues with the IP address. Let's start with a network power drain on the printer. Here are the steps:
1. Turn off all the devices connected on your network including the PC, Smartphones, printer, modem (if present) and router. Make sure all the devices in the network are turned off / unplugged.
2. Wait for 2-3 minutes.
3. Now turn on the modem if present. Wait till all the lights are steady and idle.
4. Then turn on the router. Again wait for a couple of minutes so that the lights are all steady.
5. Then turn on the printer and other devices.
Now, check the IP address of the printer again. Try accessing the printer EWS now and see if that works.
If still cannot access the network, then it could be possible that the printer and the laptops are connected to different networks. Follow the steps below to reconfigure the printer wireless setup.
-
Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
-
Touch the right arrow
to display the second navigation screen.
-
Touch Setup
, and then touch Network.
-
Touch Wireless Setup Wizard, and then touch Continue. (It might say that the wireless is already configured, but ignore and proceed) The Wireless Setup Wizard searches for networks and then displays them in a list.
-
If necessary, touch the down arrow
to scroll through the network names until you find yours.
-
Touch the name of your network, and then touch OK. (Check the network on your laptop to make sure you are connecting to the same network)
-
If prompted, enter the WEP key or WPA key to connect the printer.
If you have followed the steps suggested and still having the issue. I would suggest the next step would be to perform an advanced reset on the printer.
I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
Please check your Private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Forums profile,
