HP LaserJet M14-M17
macOS 10.13 High Sierra

Hi guys,

Having issues - wireless no longer working:

- Cannot find printer

- Printed IP address out and it won't connect to that either

- Tried to connect via DirectWiFi and won't connect

I assume a factory reset would work but it appears you can only do that via connecting via WiFi (which I can't).

Any idea how to factory reset without doing it via Wireless?

A warm welcome to HP Community!

There are two ways we can connect the HP LaserJet M14-M17 printer to a wireless network, we can either use Wireless protected setup(WPS) or temporarily connect a USB cable and convert the USB connected printer to wireless.

What's the make and model of your WiFi router?

Do you have a printer USB cable?

Any error when you try to connect using WiFi direct?

The wireless light on the printer, is it steady or is it blinking?

Could you also check and let me know if your WiFi router has a WPS button on it.

Hi Senan,

Thanks for your answer. My question was how to do a factory reset without using wireless. Can you confirm how please?

It's actually connecting now over WiFi after I turned it off for a few hours so all okay. Can you confirm the above though?

Thanks,

Roshan

I believe there is a way we can reset the printer to factory settings using the printer control panel buttons.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've send you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.
