I have an older HP Laserjet, a 4000TN. My wife and I would like to network the printer so that we can share it between our laptops (I currently have it connected to my HP 6530B laptop, running Windows 10 32 bit, via a parallel to USB adapter cable). The printer has an ethernet cable port but I would prefer to connect the printer to a wireless print server to avoid running a bunch of ethernet cables through the house. Can this be done, with this printer, and if so is there a wireless print server that will work well that won't break the bank as far as purchase price?

Hi.
This is absolutely possible, although NEW hardware to do this is scarce (most new machines will have wifi built-in).
Here are some examples of devices that will do what you want:
Also, HP made one of their own that just slides right into a JetDirect slot in the back of the LJ 4000:
Good luck!

There's another way maybe you want to know.
You must have a wireless router in the house wired it to the HP 4000tn make sure 4000tn got an IP addresss and can print through the wired.
Then every one of your PC, laptop uses this IP addresss to add wired printer now every one can print wirelessly.
Although it's not a really wireless printing it looks like to be and it works besides no need to waste any money to buy anything else.

Okay, I bought a used, (supposedly) working HP 680N (J6058A) wireless EIO card, and installed it into the second EIO slot in the back of my LJ 4000TN (the first EIO slot has the ethernet print server card in it). The LED on the card is lit, indicating that it is getting power.
Now...
How do I configure things in both the printer, and in WIndows 10, so that I can use the printer wirelessly with this JetDirect card? My computer is not automatically detecting it as a wireless device, so I am guessing there is more I have to do.
