Yes, I was able to do the same, however, this driver does not support duplex printing. In any case since  I was completely out of toner I just gave the printer away to a friend that uses Windows. 

 

My ultimate solution was to purchase a Canon LPB612Cdw. Single pass color printing and automatic duplex and very fast.
