Color LaserJet CP1518ni
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

HP Universal Print Driver for Windows PCL6 (64 Bit) will only print black on Color LaserJet CP1518ni

Also, would love to have the full software program for download rather than just the universal driver.

Hello @wyodude

Try this

Go to devices and printers and right click under printer properties then go to device settings and go almost all the way down to device type an change to color and save the change then go to printer preferences and in the color tab make sure the option print in grayscale its no checked

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

Hey @wyodude,

I see that you are having some issues with printing from your Windows 10 PC to your Laserjet CP1518ni Printer. I can help you with that.

To start, make sure the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet and not a surge protector. Once done:

  1. If the printer is connect to your PC through a USB cable, remove it.
  2. In your search bar type in Printers and open Devices and printers.
  3. Right-click on any icon of your printer or any icon labeled with a name similar to Universal Print Driver.
  4. Click on Remove Device.
  5. Repeat for any other icons of your printer or icons labeled with a name similar to Universal Print Driver.
  6. If you removed the USB cable, connect it. If not, click on Add Printer and follow the prompts to add a new queue for your printer.

This should allow you to print. If it does not, or you see a printer icon appear with a name similar to Universal Print Driver, please let me know. If it resolves your issue, please click on Accept Solution. If you appreciate my help, please click on the thumbs up icon. Both icons are below this post.
