HP easy scan scans as legal although paper is letter size

I am using Easy Scan to scan multiple page documents through the document feeder. The pages are letter size, but they are scanned as legal size. I found the option to "crop to letter size," but then I have to go through each page individually and crop it. Why won't it just scan them to letter size? More information -- sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't.

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand you are facing an issue while scanning from the HP Easy Scan. I'd be happy to assist you. Let us try these steps:

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest firmware from your MAC.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

Also, check for any software updates on MAC

Click here to know how.

Open the HP Easy Scan app, while scanning you would see the option, 'crop to', set it to US letter.

Click on the gear/settings icon beside 'presets' at the top and save this preset for future use.

Try scanning.

If the issue persists, try scanning from Apple Image Capture.

I have done these things, and it does not help. Sometimes it scans legal size, sometimes letter size.

Thanks for replying. Can you send us a picture of the scan settings in the HP Easy Scan app?
