Hi so I have a network and a printer connected to it. The printer is HP LaserJet Pro M252dw PCL-6. Two months ago it started doing something really annoying. From the basic PC that controls the network it prints just fine but from any other PC it's automatically printing on Letter instead of A4 (we only work on A4 paper) and when I change it manually to print on A4 it prints the document (whatever file it is) but also prints a 2nd page with the following message:
PCL XL Error
Subsystem: KERNEL
Error: IllegalTag
File Name: kernel.c
Line Number: 1933
I've tried many different things including firmware update and normal update but nothing worked. Please help it's really irritating not to mention that we kill more trees just by printing all those extra A4 with the error message!!!

While you respond to that, click on this link to download and run HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Hi and thanks for the response. From the basic pc of the network and from all the other pc Im printing through acrobat reader for pdf and through microsoft office word for doc files. It's the pretty standard and normal procedure. I have the hp software that you say installed on the basic pc ofc. I also havent got the ability to do the update from the print and scan doctor via usb and it says that the hp web services are not available.

You can change the driver to pcl5 or even postscript and try printing.
