HP3600n
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

My HO3600n workhorse is one of several printers and devices on a homegroup wireless router.  The printer was connected to the router by ethernet and working fine.  Last week the printer jammed and had to be powered down.  Ever since it does not communicate with the computer.  Tried cycling router and printer many times.  Uninstalled and re-installed drivers.  Ran HP troubleshooter and the computer "sees" the printer but can not "communicate".  The inkjet printers and scanners work fine.  Tried connecting directly to the laptop using the USB 2 connecter on the printer to the USB3 on the laptop.  It will print that way but I really need to regain the use of the the wireless option.  I'm running Windows 10 but that wasn't an issue before the "incident".  Any ideas?

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Took a few days to get back to it.  I hadn't realized that the printer could just adopt a new IP address after a shut down error.   I plugged in the ethernet cable again and printed the config page from the printer.  Indeed, a new IP address.  Using the new IP address I searched for the printer.  Windows found the printer with no problem and I was able to communicate and print again.  I was lucky that I still had the print driver installed.

Thanks again for the help!

My gut feeling is the ip address of the printer has changed causing the issue. What you need to do is go to one of the computer and right click on the printer icon and scroll to the first properties and left click. Now click on ports and a port listing will appear below. Expand the left side so the ip address of the printer shows. Now go to the printer and click on the menu button and go to reports and scroll to the config page report and select. You will get a page that will give you the network settings of the printer. Compare the ip settings on the page with ip settings for the port. If they are not the same you need to change the setting on the printer. If the first 3 sets of numbers are the same you can enter the ip address from the printer config report into your web browser and hit enter and the printer's web interface page should appear. Then all you need to do is go into network settings change the method from dhcp or bootp to manual and correct the last set of numbers and save and apply. The printers will need to be connected to your network and not usb when you do this.

My HP Envy 7855 printer was working fine until we changed from AT&T to Spectrum. Now I have an error message that no IP address is connected. How do I fix this?
