Please Help!  Last week I purchased a brand new Laserjet MFP M477fnw for my small office.  I connected it to the local network immediately without a problem.

The next day, the name and password of the network was changed during an equipment upgrade.   Now we are completely locked out of the Laserjet!   I have tried to enter in the new network information into the MFP M477 but it will not even let me access the System Setup to change the password.  I want to reset to the factory defaults and start over as if the machine was new.  I can not find any published advice on how to do this.

PLEASE HELP!!

Thank you,

Hi,

I borrowed instructions from this thread, basically here's what you do.

Turn the printer all the way off (just hold the power button until you hear a beep or other noise, and then let go and it will just shut off).

Turn the printer on, and immediately put your fingers on the return (u-turn) button, home button, and one in the lower right corner of the screen (next to the question mark button).

Wait until the screen said Permanent Storage Init. You're good after that, it will reset.

Thank you...It worked fine on my HP Laserjet Pro color MFP M477fnw.  All the best,

Can you confirm this process?  I have turned off the printer 3 times and when turning it back on I put my fingers over 3 locations?  The return symbol, the home symbol and the "?" mark symbol.  Is there another way to reset the printer?

Finally got it to work!!!

Once you restart, immediately press:

Back + Home + above ? (on display screen)

I can't say what the exact spot is above the ?, but it is in the general vicinity right above the ? on the display screen.
