We just got a new printer at my office and I'm trying to set it up. The wireless network I want doesn't show up in the list of available networks and it can't be found by entering SSID. I have realized it may be because the printer and wireless network have different encryption types. The printer uses TKIP and the wireless router uses AES. Any solutions? Can the encryption be changed on printer?

Well you log into the routers web page usually 192.168.1.1. Input your user name and password. Go to your wireless settings and change the channel to 1. Never 'auto'. Read your router manual for info.

Actually you don't change anything in the printer. It auto senses what the router is set too. Set your router to WPA2-AES and you should be good to go. use the Wireless Setup wizard if available on the printer.

Thanks. I tried using the wireless setup wizard but it doesn't display my network. The network is shown as WPA2 and AES encryption

In the router set the wireless channel to 1. Save settings. Make sure router and printer are 5 feet part at least. Reset the printer back to Network Defaults and run again.

We have a Netgear Router and Netgear USB adapters on each PC. I'm not sure how to set channels. The router is in a different room than the printer.
