Sandy/HP:
My issue is almost identical. I can print configuration/test pages from the HP Utility. I can scan documents from my printer and send to my computer. I can see printer ink levels..etc. from my computer. So, clearly there is communication.
However, when I send a print job (e.g. a simple 1 page word document with "test" typed on the page) it does not print. There are typically three results after sending the print job: 1)it sits in queue at less 100%; 2)it sits at 100%; or 3)it quickly is in the queue and then disappears.
I have a Mac. My printer model #is: SNPRC-1101-01. Trying to print wirelessly.
Thanks

It looks like Mac is still not able to communicate with the network connected printer.
What's the make and model of your WiFi router?
Do you have any antivirus software installed on your Mac?
Approximately how far is the printer located from the WiFi router?
Could you check for WiFi interference and also perform a ping test using the Mac Network Utility and let me know the results. Use the printer IP address to perform a ping test, the printer IP can be located by touching the wireless icon on the printer display.

A warm welcome to HP Forums! This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries.
It sounds like an issue with the printer driver installed on your Mac. Removing the existing driver and setting up printer with Apple AirPrint may resolve the issue. Let's try these steps:
Please ensure that the printer is up to date with its firmware and Mac is up to date with it's software. If you are unsure you may use the links below to update the printer and Mac software:
1.) Click the Apple menu, click System Preferences, and then click Print & Scan or Printers & Scanners.
2.) Check if your printer name displays in the Printers list, If your printer is listed, click the printer name, click the minus sign to delete the printer.
3.) If you see multiple printer queues for the same printer, remove all extra printers by selecting them one at a time, and then clicking the minus button at the bottom of the list.
4.) Click the plus sign , click Add Printer or Scanner, click the printer name.
5.) Click the Use or Print Using menu, select AirPrint in the pop-up menu. Then click Add.
6.) Try to print.
Let me know how it goes!

Thank you for your recommendations. However, still encountering the problem. Here's what I did...
- I confirmed that my printer firmware is current
- I confirmed that my Mac software is current
- I went through system preferences==>printers&scanners==>found my printer in the list and deleted it (by pressing "-")
- Clicked "+", found my printer. The "airprint" autopopulated the use field. I pressed Add
- The dialogue box indicated "setting up Office Jet Pro 8600...." and then displayed "setting up the device...". But then failed with the message "An error occured while trying to add the selectede device. Unable to communicate with the printer at this time"
- I found that odd so went to the HP Utility application. It showed the status for my printer as "idle" and showed the correct status for my supplies ("good"). I.E. computer and printer communicating. Further, I was able to print a configuration page from the HP Utility application.
Please help

Most of the printer communication issues can be resolved by performing a network power reset, here is how to do it:
1.) Turn off your Mac, Printer and Router.
2.) Unplug the power from the back of router, wait for 10 -15 seconds.
3.) Connect the power cable back to router, turn on the router first. Wait till the router to initialize.
4.) Turn on Printer and Mac
5.) Use the steps I suggested in my previous post to add the printer.
Keep me posted!

Some progress..
I was able to add the printer. In the printer and scanners panel it showed "Idle" and had a green circle.
However, when I tried to print a simple 1 page word doc, the print queue showed progressively: "connecting..., printing....printed" and then the job left the queue. But! nothing printed. I'm positive I'm trying to print to the printer next to me (not another printer in my house)

Router: Google Wifi. Model AC 1304
No antivirus software on my Mac. (Yep, going to install today)
Printer is about 10 feet from the router
Breaking News....thought I'd go ahead and try to print something and now it works. I changed nothing from last time, but alas. So, I'm set for now.
Big thanks for your help and attention
