I have searched for a couple of hours in an attempt to find what the problem is, to no avail. I have followed the instructions to make 2-sided copies, however once I'm in the Settings menu on the printer, there are only 2 options: 1-Sided to 1-Sided and 1-Sided to 2-Sided. It's my understanding that since the model of printer I'm using contains the letter "d", that I should be able to use Duplex mode. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
Any help would be so much appreciated!

The D stands for Duplex Printing, not duplex scanning.
This is consistent with the scanning options you mentioned so far, as only 1 sided is available to you.
See the specs for the M281fdn:
http://www8.hp.com/emea_middle_east/en/products/printers/product-detail.html?oid=14142595#!tab=specs
Under Scanner Specs > Duplex ADF Scanning > No
The specs on the US site are not as clear:
https://store.hp.com/us/en/pdp/hp-color-laserjet-pro-mfp-m281fdw
But we can arrive at the same conclusion based on the evidence you stated and the foreign HP website for a similar regional model.

Thank you for your reply. I was actually referring to putting 1 double-sided sheet into the feeder, and it not copying both sides on one sheet. I have since learned that my printer isn't capable of that function, sadly.
Thanks again for your time!
