Hi,

Is it an HP Laserjet Pro P1100 printer?

The HP Smart Install feature has been discontinued a while ago and it is not supported on Windows 10.

With the printer connected, follow below utility and disable the HP Smart Install feature, then unplug the USB:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software12/COL53550/lj-129224-1/LJP1100_P1560_P1600_SI_Utility.exe

Next, unplug the USB.

Finally, download and install below software, only connect the USB when the installation asks to do so:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/COL32431/bi-80329-11/hp_LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution-...

Note: If the installation extracts but then won't launch, manually browse to C:\LJP1100_P1560_P1600_Full_Solution and double click HpSetup.exe to start the installation.
