Appreciate your time and passions,
I did a deep double check on firmware not updating to the latest version.
There is two similar printer.
1. HP LaserJet Professional P1102w
2. HP LaserJet Professional P 1102w
HP LaserJet Professional P1102w (CE657A) which does not have EPrint and Wifi direct
The latest firmware update on HP LaserJet Professional P1102w printer is 20130703
HP LaserJet Professional P 1102w (CE658A) which does not have EPrint and Wifi direct
The latest firmware update on HP LaserJet Professional P 1102w printer is 20180301
Please double check the product number of your printer, if you have an HP LaserJet Professional P 1102w (CE658A) please go ahead and update the firmware.
Keep me posted if this helps you.
Have a great day!

Welcome to the HP Forums!
Thank you for posting your query on this forum, it's a great place to find answers.
I reviewed your post and I understand that the printer is showing incorrect firmware version after updating the firmware.
Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- Was the firmware update installed successfully?
- Are you facing any issues with the printer?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
Awaiting your reply and you have a great day!
If you wish to show appreciation for my efforts, mark my post as Accept as Solution. Your feedback counts!

It is great to have you back and thank you for the information.
I have escalated your concern to HP's Support Team in your region to have it reviewed for available options if any.
I will keep you posted once I get an update from them.
Meanwhile, please help me with the below information.
- How is the printer connected to your computer? (USB or Wireless)
- What the firmware version displayed on the printer?
- Have you installed the full feature software on the computer?
Looking forward to your reply.
Good day! Take care 🙂

HP agent, there are 2 hardware versions of the P1102w printer and one is out of support (CE657A) and latest firmware is 20130703, while the other (CE658A) will update to 2018 firmware. [edit]

Thanks for the reply,
It looks like you were interacting with @The_Fossette, but he is out for the day & I'll be glad to help you out.
I'm Raj1788 & I'm at your service.
I recommend you delete the driver and reinstall the printer.
Then, Click on this link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-laserjet-pro-p1102-printer-series/4110394/model/... to download the drivers and the firmware for your printer.
Keep me posted, how it goes!

Hi Raj1788,
thanks for your answer but I'm not on windows, but OS10.13.
Also like to ad the next document (updated may 2018) https://support.hp.com/sk-en/document/c04720842,
in which it seems HP still supports the CE657A version of the printer.
I wonder what the reult of the escalation of @The_Fossette has delivered.
For me your answer does not fit,
Thanks for taking it up again

Thank you very much for the correction,
Please follow the below steps for the MAC
Delete the existing print queue and add the printer
Remove the printer queue from the list of printers, and then add it again. Doing so creates a new printing session.
-
Make sure your Mac is connected to the Internet.
-
In the Printers list, click your HP printer, and then click the Minus button
to delete it.
-
Click the Add button
.
-
Find and select the name of your printer from the Printer list (HP LaserJet Pro P1102w Printer), and then click Add to add your printer. Do not select an HP Fax driver.
NOTE:
If your printer does not display in the list, make sure the printer is connected, turned on, has power, and is ready to print.
Figure : Example of the printer selection list
-
Click Print Using or Use.
-
Select the name of your printer (if available) or AirPrint.
Figure : Menu showing AirPrint selected
Your new printer queue displays in the Printers list in an Idle status
.
Figure : Example of a newly added printer in the Printers & Scanners list
-
Try printing again.
Then, use this link: https://hp.care/2KDU3Vr and update the firmware.
Keep me posted, how it goes!
Have a great day!
Cheers:)
