Laserjet 2300
Microsoft Windows XP

Hello,

We have a Laserjet 2300 which works fine. As the cartridge was empty we bought replacement cartridges which are offically HP 10A voor 2300 serie (Q2610A ).  After putting in we started making copies again but they came out with a lot of black horizontal streaks, so almost a black page, which makes it almost impossible to read anything. When we put back the old (almost empty) one we could make another copie with the left ink and the copy was perfect again. Putting the new one in, same black streaking. As we thought perhaps this cartridge had an error or was damaged we decided to open the second cartridge we had bought, but with no luck. Also with the black streaks. And the old one still giving perfect copies. So what does that mean? Did we forget something? Is something with the new cartridges?

Hope someone can help us out.

Best regards, Luc

I do not know where you purchased the cartridges. Since this is now an old printer it is possible you got toner cartridges that are very old and were not stored correctly. They have wiper blades that can go bad when not stored under correct temperatures. If HP original return to place of purchase for refund or exchange. My gut tells me you probably purchased the toners on ebay so you may be out of luck. Also the box that they came in should be black and white. If blue and white you got very old toner cartridges.

Thx for your answer David. We bought them on a local kind of Ebay and yes blue/white box originally HP so thus old ones as I now understand. You don'r give a repair option so I suppose those wiper blades are not repairable? Well than bad luck yes an research for new onres.
