Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

I have a LaserJet M402dn. One of my users wants to keep envelope #10  in the manual feed tray. (Tray 1).

When the user sends an envelope, she either has to walk over to the printer and press okay or remove the envelopes and reinstert them.

I have set the manual feed to Envelope #10 in the web interface, on the server as well as on the users computer. Nothing seems to work.

The user would like to keep the envelopes in the manual feed and not have to press OK everytime they send an enveloope.

Thanks in advance for everyone's help!

Hi.

Why would you lioke to press OK to print an envelope from the manual feed tray?

What exact message listed on the printer screen once the user required to press OK?

Getting this informaiton will allow a better understanding of any possible cause and resolution.

Hi Shlomi,

Thanks for your help on this.

The user does NOT want to press OK. They want the printer to grab the envelope without pressing ok.

The message that appears on the screen is:

Manual feed.

Envelope, Env #10'

There is also a red triangle with an exclamation point flashing.

If the user presses ok, the envelope is printed. If the user removes the envelope and reinserts the envelope, it is then printed.

The user wants to print the envelope without having to press OK or remove and reinsert the envelope.

Thanks,

Brian

I just received this printer for my office and I am having the same problem. I am unable to print envelopes without having to either click ok or readjust the envelopes in the tray. I want the envelopes to print without me having to touch the printer at all.

Having same problem. Hope someone has a solution!

Found the answer: The driver defaults to manual feed.  If you change it to "tray 1", it works!

Do you do this on the computer or on the printer? Not sure I understand how to accomplish this.

HP Recommended

On the computer:

Go to "Devices and Printers" from the control panel

Select your printer.

Select "Adjust print options"

Select "Printing Shortcuts"

Go to "paper sizes" and chose your envelope type

Go to "Paper Source" and choose "Tray 1"

Select "Apply"

Thanks, but now it won't print the letters from tray 2. Sometimes I have to print 40 letters and corresponding envelopes in one sitting. I need to be able to have the letters print from tray 2 and the envelopes to print from tray 1 without having to go to the printer every time I need to print a new letter or envelope.

My RICOH printer that died did this perfectly. I could print a letter and an envelope for it without having to touch the printer.

Try doing the same thing but for letters.

Select "Printing Shortcuts"

Go to "paper sizes" and chose your "Letter"

Go to "Paper Source" and choose "Tray 2"

Select "Apply"
