Hello guys
I have tried numerous attempts in getting this printer to work properly, mostly solutions previously posted on these forums, with no luck!
My printer's toners are full but it would only print black and white. In Windows Settings the printer's status is Offline. When Trying to enable Automatic Configuration to "Update now" I get the communication error: Screenshot - http://prntscr.com/pbwjys
I installed the latest firmware and software as per the HP website for my HP Color LaserJet CP3525x. including the Dot4. (Apparently it's for the USB - The Dot4 msi file just ran for a split second and closed by its own with no message displayed, I am not sure if that means it has installed like it should)
It is connected to the computer via the USB port. The printer prints only black and white instead of color and I need to fix that communication issue in order to solve the color printing issue, from what I've read in manuals and forums online.
Help is appreciated! Thanks!

Do the test pages print in B/W? Disconnect from the computer. Print a Menu Map. Find the Restore Factory Defaults setting and execute this. When printer powers up, install with latest Universal driver. Don't connect USB cable. Run driver install and wait for prompt.

Hi,
Yes The test pages and anu Page prints în B/W.
I dont know how to print a menu map!
I dont know how to restore to default factor settings either... I Will look IT up in The printer display menu!
Will attempt to do The rest as you instructed too. Cheers!

These printers can be locked out of color through the menus and even test pages would be monochrome. I would try performing a cold reset.

The issue was solved. I did The following:
1. Reset to factor defaults
2. Unplug printer from Power source and Unplug The usb cable
3. Waited 20 minute with The printer unplugged. In The MEANTIME i uninstalled The printer and reinstalled The software, while The printer was unplugged from The PC.
4. In The software installation wizard I selected The option USB Plug & Play
5. Plugged in the printer, went to properties, device settings, changed Automatic Configuration to Update Now. IT worked, no communication error popped this Time and The printer has been printing in color ever since!
