M177FW
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I had this M177FW for a while, recently, the printer got this "rare door open" message constantly.

Sometimes it showed up when printer was turned on, and printer went to "initializing..." for a while then it appeared to be ok. Sometimes it happened during printing process, paper was jammed in paper cartridge before fully sucked into the printer, after I removed the paper, "rare door open" message appeared.

I tried to open and close the rare door, occassionally it fixed the problem, most time it just did not work.

I doubt the problem occured due to rare door sensor not in place, there is no local dealer or authorized repair shop, and for sure I won't ship this heavy unit anywhere due to cost and shipping/handling concern. Also, due to unit is out of warranty period already.

Not sure if anyone can help me with this, e.g., a maintanance manual or pointing the rare door sensor for me to see if I can do a quick fix by myself.

Error"rear door open" just open the rear door and do nothing with rear door just use extra light or torch to see where the right (white part on the door goes). There is a tiny wire and small black hanging part, just push that part with a small screw driver.... Try it couple of times it works

Just give this post a closure follow up my last reply.

I tried using a tooth pick with where my finger pointed.

It worked every time and after a while, the "rare door open" message appeared again. Then I had to do it all over.

Luckily, so far it seems still working. I just pray it will continue work.
