I just replaced my old M607 with a new one. I keep my Check Stock in Tray 3 and Plain Paper in Tray 2. Both are normal size. I set all of my normal jobs to Tray 2 and my Quickbooks checkwriting to tray 3. The HP607 employs Automatic Selection to over-ride my choice of trays. In this manner often my reports sometimes write on check stock. How do I disable or remove AUTOMATIC TRAY SELECTION.?
btw. Never had this problem with the 2 year old M607
Tech support solved this by calling checks "BOND", but that only introduces other problems

I want my new M607 to work as well as my old M607

As it turns out, we gave up. I went back to my old m607 with my old drivers, and from another post I read here..... changed the fuser kit. Every thing works... There was something about the new M607 that did not want to accept that we had checks in one drawer and paper in the other.
RepairATrooper...thank you for your suggestion... and I DID find out where it went... It did not work... but it was not your suggestions... It was the Faulty printer.... I am not sure why, but I am glad I read these posts and found the one about the random Grinding noises coming from the fuser... Saved me and my customer!!!
Now... what do I do with this new M607......?

You need to set Use requested tray to "exclusively" and Use another tray to "do not allow"
