I am using Windows 7 . I scan to eamil as a PDF. Then i hit save button and outlook express is pulled up instead of windows live. I used outlook express until I reinstalled windows 7 months ago. At that ime MS said outlook express was no longer offered or supported. So I am using outlook thru windows essentials i.e live.com

Ah, you're scanning to your PC and using the Scan to Email feature there. To use that form of Scan to Email you would need to install a mail client on your PC and configure a valid email address. There should be some downloadable form of Outlook to use. Failing that Mozilla Thunderbird is one of many free email clients that should still be supported on Windows 7.
If you are unable to setup an email client on your PC, you can also save the document to your PC and then attach the document to an email.
Please let me know the results after following the above.

This is starting to get beyond my area of knowledge, however I know it is possible to setup another mail client to use your Outlook email address. After installing a new email client you can find Microsoft's mail server settings by clicking on this link. Using those settings should allow you to setup the email client so that you can use Scan to Email within the app.
Please let me know if you have any other questions and I can see if I can find any information on my side.
