MacBookAir doesn't recognize printer. It used to. Both my iMac and iPadPro print perfectly. My wife's iMac in another room also prints correctly. I can't install software from original CD because is says only up until OS 10.6 and Sierra is 10.12.
So, I've downloaded new driver (HP Easy Start version 2.8.0) and when trying to connect it says No devices have been found.

Hi,
If HP Easy Start fails to locate your printer you may search your printer by its IP Address from within HP Easy Start.
From your printer click the Setup icon and locate Reports, then press OK.
Locate Configuration Page and press OK.
Locate its IP address inder the Netowrk Information section.
If it cannot lcoate it by its IP address too, can you access that address from Safari on that Mac?
Also ensure the Mac is connected to the same netowrk / SSID as your printer, if you may have an 5 and 2.4 netwrok name shown be sure to select the 2.4 SSID.

In these situations it is best to download the latest full software solution for your OS and then reinstall. Do not use the CD's that came with the printer. They are outdated and only useful for offline or legacy situations. Everyone else should be using the latest and greatest.
Checking the drivers and download page for the 1536 laserjet printer reveals teh only option is HP Easy Start for MacOS 10.12. You will have to follow the instructions and do your best to get it to work. Otherwise you may have to pick a different printer that has support for your modern OS version.
