Hi @RonD3,
Thanks for reaching out to the HP Support Forums for a solution to your printing issue.
I understand that you are using an HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw Color Printer with a Mac OS X 10.11.4 El Capitan computer and you are unable to print on #10 envelopes because you are getting an "Out of Paper" error message. I would like to help with that.
You would want to make sure that you are using envelopes recommended only for laser printers and that the envelopes are loaded properly. The printer might not recognize media that is not intended for use with it. Here is a support document that covers Guidelines for loading and printing on envelopes - Loading Paper and Envelopes for the HP LaserJet Pro CP1025nw Color Printer.
Here is the support document intended for use when seeing the "Out of Paper" message when there is paper or envelopes in the input tray - 'Out of Paper' Error Message Displays and the Printer Does Not Pick Up or Feed Paper.
Next I would reinstall the HP driver with Apple Software Update. Here is a support document that can be used for reference if needed - Installing a Mac Printer Driver Using Apple Software Update.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.

Thanks for the reply. I had already read the article on loading the paper, and done the latest software update before I wrote in.
After, I tried printing on normal paper, and got the same error. I unplugged the printer for a short time: no help.
Then left it unplugged overnight and it was OK in the morning. Guess I should have tried that first.
The "out of paper" article you recommended would have solved the prob if I had found it. Thanks.
