LaserJet m1212nf MFP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I downloaded and installed the HP_M1130_M1210_MFP_Full_Solution-v20180815-10158769... driver pack. This appeared to successfully load on my PC, but it them appears that a firmware upgrade was sent to the LasterJet m1212nf printer. Since then the printer has been stuck in a continuous Initializing loop.

I have attempted to resend the firmware upgrade but the upgrade software reports the printer is offline or starting up. This was attempted using LAN and USB interfaces.

I then did a reset:

- Power up printer, wait for lights/activity to stop, remove print cartridge, remove power cord, wait 70 seconds then reverse actions. This did not achieve any change

Next I attempted a NVRAM reset, but this is now caught in the initializing loop where it prompts for Language and Country before shutting down and looping to the next startup attempt in a few seconds.

This printer has been exceptionally reliable so I'd appreciate any assistance to bring it back to life.

It's nothing to do with your installing Win10 drivers it's about to the formatter.

Power off M1212nf and unplug all connected cables behind it only power cable left then power on.

If it's still in an initializing loop then you have a bad formatter needed to be replaced.

You can try to run NVRAM and re-send firmware through USB port to see if it works or not, if it's useless after all these be done then you have to replace the formatter.

Thanks; I've not been able to successfully upload the firmware via USB. Can you explain how to replace the 'formatter' please?

Formatter is the one which you plug usb cable into, you'll only have to take off left cover which only one screw in the back side.

Google HP M1212 from YouTube where there are many videos showing how to do it.
