printing .pdf files gives error: PCL XL error; Subsystem: IMAGE; Error: IllegalAttributeValue; Operator: ReadImage; Position 29
HP responded with: Description: This is the most current version of HP's Universal Print Driver (UPD). The UPD, available in 32 and 64 bit packages, is a single driver that supports PCL5, PCL6, and HP PostScript; Level 2 and 3 emulation. The download only provided the 32 bit version: upd driver upd-pcl6-x32-6.6.0.23029.exe
My HP5100 has a network card and is plugged into my home CAT5 network.
PDF files printed until a week ago.
I need to print 11x17 pdf drawings in my archtectural practice.
How do get the 64 bit version?

PCL.XL error messages are specific to PCL6 UPDs.
You need to download and install either the UPD for PostScript or PCL5.
At the moment only the PostScript UPD is available on the HP website for Win10 x64:

Thank you to John_Getzke.
I have installed both the upd-pcl6-x64 and the PostScript drivers.
Adobe Reader could not print to the 5100 with the pcl6 driver and could not find the 5100 with the PostScript driver.
Please send the link to the upd-pcl5-x64 on the HP.com site. I want to try the pcl5 driver.
Googling for upd-pcl5-x64 produced a link to HPdrivers.net Is this a good site?

I no longer have access to the UPD PCL5 driver files.
It seems odd that an Adobe product cannot find or talk to the PostScript driver. Postscript was developed by Adobe and is our goto solution for all PDF printing scenarios in our work environment. Perhaps somethign didnt go correctly with the driver installation. You could try removing the previous UPD and device specific print drivers on this PC before trying the PS driver again.
You could also try converting the PDF document to .TIFF and reprinting to see if that file format behaves any better. Both .TIFF and .PDF are open to the public so you should have a variety of apps that can print from that format.
