Neverstop Laser MFP 1200w
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The thin horizontal lines only print on the left side, in the middle nothing and little lighter on the right hand side.  I cleaned the laser optic with a ear bud for that without success. We played with the Darkness/Density in the printer Level 1-5 and we adjusted Humidity and altitude without real success. The Imaging Unit was then replaced because it was time after 20k anyway but the problem persisted. The printer is with 2 ½  months out of warranty and  I am sure, that my client is not the only one worldwide with this issue.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Does it happen while copying too?

Try the steps from here: https://support.hp.com/in-en/product/hp-neverstop-laser-mfp-1200-printer-series/22955699/document/c0...

Let me know if this helps.

only when printing! Scanner not involved. I personally think it's the High Voltage PSU...

Thanks,  the firmware has been updated first thing. Printer interior has been cleaned. Next we need to replace the “High Voltage PSU”

We asked the HP Authorised Warranty Centre in Windhoek for the following part no. HVPS 220Volt : 4RY26-60005

and this is the answer we got.

“Sorry for the late reply, I was awaiting confirmation from HP Europe

4YE48-60005   Part is not orderable

SMPS/HVPS 220V V2I (JC44-00254B)

RoHS: COMPLY_2.06”

As I previously mentioned, that printer is 2 ½ months out of warranty and started with this problem after 10 months already.  I am quite sure HP knows about this specific problem and normally just swap these printers with a new one, because in Europe the warranty is 3 years . That's why they don’t keep that part. But the clients in Southern Africa only get one year warranty in comparison to the 3 years in Europe.

We shall escalate this case.

Good day HP , 2 weeks have past and I have not heard a thing from HP. Don't make promises you can't keep! I have the feeling that you where just trying to calm us down, that we don't write negative things in the forum.

Thank you very much.
