Got through to a technical adviser at HP yesterday and at last issue resolved.  Her instructions:-

Please remove and re-add the printer once and that should fix the issue.

Remove and Re-adding the drivers:
Follow the steps below to remove and add the printer:
Press and hold the Windows + R key from the keyboard and enter "Control Printers". This will open the Devices and Printer's Window. Select your printer and click the "Remove Printer" option from the menu bar or by right-clicking on the printer's icon. Now, click on Add printer, it will search for available printer’s, but you must select "my printer is not listed". You must manually add the printer over the TCP/IP option. Select "Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname", click next. Under the Device Type select "TCP/IP Device". Enter the IP address (Tap on the wireless icon of the printer to see the IP address, it should be something like this 192.168.0.2) of the printer.

Please make sure you have "checked" the "Query the printer and automatically select the driver to use" option and then click Next. Follow the on-screen instructions to add the printer with the recommended driver and try printing.
