p3015

Our company uses AS400, print orders to P3015.

However, in case the printer has problem that needs to be turn off, all the jobs from the printer disappears.

The question being, is there a way to prevent the printer from holding jobs in the memory?

When we used external Jetdirect boxes, we never had print lost problems.

please advice.  thank you

Printer memory does not persists on a printer unless the job is written to a hard drive first.  The P3015 does not have a true secured print/Hard Drive feature.  Any jobs sent to the printer that are not physically printed will be lost when the power to the device is lost/turned off.

Work arounds are to configure a print server for your environment.  A print server will act as a middle man between your printers and PCs, only sending jobs to the printer when the printer is ready for physical printing.  If the power cuts out on your printer any unprinted jobs will remain in the queue on the print server.  Once power is restored the jobs will pick up and resume printing again.
