Like @kenshifurio, I tried EVERYTHING suggested: resetting, updating the software, updating the firmware, either standalone or connected via USB from a Mac AND a PC. Nothing. I even tried it with my wireless router sitting on top of the printer. Again nothing. The router doesn't see the printer at all. This is the second thread I've read on this subject with the HP support person going down a checklist but not knowing what to do when it doesn't work. And like the other thread, it comes to the end without any resolution. If it didn't have a USB connection, my P1102W would be a brick. We need someone to tell us how to access the configuration settings through a PC DOS prompt or Mac Terminal.

@JSMBraun, Welcome to HP Support Community!
First, restore defaults on the printer. Follow the steps below:
- Turn the product off.
- Turn the product on, and while it is initializing press and hold the cancel button and wireless button at the same time.
Restart your devices
To prepare your printer for a wireless connection, restart the printer, computer, and router.
-
Turn the printer off, and then wait 10 seconds.
-
Disconnect the printer power cord from the printer.
-
Turn off the computer or the device you are trying to print from.
-
Connect the printer power cord to the printer, and then turn on the printer.
-
Disconnect the power cord from your wireless router, and then wait 10 seconds.
-
Reconnect the power cord to the router.
NOTE:
Wait until Internet service is restored. Internet service is interrupted while the router is off.
-
Turn on the computer.
Your printer and network are ready to make a new connection. Continue to the next step.
Connect the printer to your network
Connect the printer to your network using the HP wireless setup wizard (for printers with a touchscreen control panel), WPS (if supported by your router), or the HP Smart software.
Connect a printer that does not have a touchscreen control panel
Use Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), HP Smart, or temporarily connect a USB cable to establish a wireless connection between your printer and network.
Connect the printer with WPS
Use WPS to connect the printer to your wireless network.
-
Locate the WPS button on your router, but do not press it yet.
If your router does not support WPS, skip to the next step to connect the printer with the HP Smart app.
-
Turn on the printer. If the printer is in sleep mode, press the Cancel button on the control panel.
-
Reset the printer network settings. Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons until the Power light blinks. Wait until the Wireless light blinks.
Any network settings on the printer are now reset. Your printer remains in setup mode for 2 hours.
-
On the router, press and hold the WPS button for 3 to 5 seconds or until it shows that the WPS connection process has started.
NOTE:
The printer stops searching for a WPS connection two minutes after the wireless button is pressed. If you were unable to press the WPS button within that timeframe, attempt these steps again.
Once the printer is connected, the blue Wireless light stops blinking and remains on.
If the printer fails to connect to your wireless network, continue to the next step.
Connect the printer with a temporary USB connection (Windows)
Temporarily connect the printer to the computer with a USB cable, and then change the connection to wireless in the HP Printer Assistant.
-
Search Windows for HP, and then click your printer name from the list of results. If you do not have the printer software installed on your computer, to go 123.hp.com to download and install it.
HP Printer Assistant opens.
-
Click the Utilities tab.
-
Click Printer Setup & Software, and then click Reconfigure Wireless Settings.
-
Follow the on-screen instructions to change the wireless settings.
-
When prompted, connect the USB cable and type the WEP or WPA key (network password).
If you do not know your network password, go to Find Your Wireless WEP, WPA, WPA2 Password (Windows).
Once the printer is connected, the blue Wireless light stops blinking and remains on.
Refer to this document HP Printers - Troubleshoot a Wi-Fi Printer Connection for help.

Hello all,
I know this thread is very old but I guess my post would help someone in the same situation (and I hope Kenshifurio did not trash his printer).
I had the exact same problem that @kenshifurio had and tried everything he tried without success. However, following the suggestion made by @davidzuts, I ran the setup file I had downloaded a couple of weeks ago which turned out to be the same one he shared
And the following steps helped reinstall my printer (HP Laserjet P1102W) on the network (with an IP address assigned and the "IP configured by" set to DHCP.
STEPS:
After running setup and choosing to ADD ANOTHER PRINTER and then SELECTING my printer series from the list:
1. I chose the the first of three (3) options it gave me (configure a printer to print over the wireless network) and then
2. Choose ADVANCED (Enter wireless credentials manually) on the Wireless Discovery Method window
3. Choose a wireless network SSID from the list it would display. It should list your SSID if your WLAN is turn on and discoverable. You also have an option to ENTER YOUR SSID MANUALLY. Then click NEXT
4. On the Wi-Fi Protected Setup window, Choose the 2nd (second) option: I DO NOT WANT TO USE WI-FI PROTECTED SETUP. I WANT TO ENTER THE WIRELESS CREDENTIALS MANUALLY (perhaps the first option would also work if your router supports WPS; but I did not try that).
5. Enter your network passphrase (WPA/WPA2) on the next window: Wireless Credentials and click NEXT
And that's it! Your HP P1102W should be back on your WLAN

@Cedlinx, you da man!
My daughter was just yesterday complaining about the sheer lameness of her cabled printer. I followed your steps and it now works! Not sure what's different now, but after three years I don't care 🙂
Thanks for taking the time to post your findings!
