I have tried loading new drivers, etc. but I cannot print as of today. My HP laptop is connected wirelessly, but the printer is contacted to the router. It says my printer is in a state of error. I cannot account for what changed from yesterday. There are no updates to my system.

You need to go into printer properties and then clicking on the ports tab and see what ip address the driver is using and make sure it matches the actual ip address. You should also go to a dos prompt and see if you can ping the ip address. If both are the same and it still does not work you may want to check to make sure no other device in your network took the ip address. Just disconnect the ethernet cable from the printer and try the ping again. If you get a reply that is your issue. If still no luck then I would delete the printer on the computer, turn the computer off and then back on and then I would reload the printer again.
