"While the printer is powered on, remove the power cord from the back of the printer for five minutes and then power on the printer. "

 

"there is another thread about this, and one who responded suggested simply unplugging the unit from power source WITHOUT shutting down first. This is what made a difference for my situation."

Service support documentation indicates that this is a communication error involving the DC controller. Ensure that product is plugged directly into the wall and not through any type of surge protector.  If error occurs even when starting with direct wall connection then the next step is to replace the Dc controller.
