HP LaserJet 2100 PCL6
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

Hello,

My printer HP LaserJet 2100 PCL 6 has gone offline all of a sudden in both  Wi Fi and manual mode

When I print a test page manually, the page prints.

I also have a second computer that runs on Windows 8.... have the same problem.

I also tried to connect my laptop to the printer via the ethernet cable.... same problem.

My computer does see the printer and I get a message that the printer is OFFLINE and that the print jobs are in queue.

I have had this printer for a long time and would be very sad to get rid of it.

Any suggestions ?

Thank you.

If you put the IP address of the printer in the URL bar of a browser you should be able to see the jetdirect embedded web server.

Please check to see if you can see the embedded web server and check the network settings that way.

You should also be able to Ping your printer have you tried that?

If you don't know the IP address or think it may have inadvertently changed then print the printer configuration page by pressing and holding the small button than tapping the large button then letting go of both buttons.

What do you mean by Wi-Fi mode? This printer does not have any built-in Wi-Fi capabilities.

Also when printing directly from a PC to the network card using an ethernet cable you have to do a specific configuration it doesn't just work when you plug it in.

Thank you for your response.

Apologies.... my question was not clear.

1) I live in an area where I do not have access to conventional internet,

2) I access the internet using a  ZTE MF275R Turbo Hub ( Bell Mobility).

3) My printer is connected to the Turbo Hub via  an Ethernet cable.

4) Until very recently. I could print my documents using the Wi-Fi capabilities of the Hub.

5) Today I can  "see" the printer from my computer. However the status says "offline".

6) To make sure that , my Ethernet cable was not defective, I used a different cable ( new).... and had the same result.

7) I then connected my lap top directly to the printer using the appropriate port.... same result.

😎 Today I downloaded the  HP Print and Scan Doctor which also could "see" the printer. However,  the diagnostic suggested that the printer was switched off. I can assure that the printer is switched on and prints when prompted, manually, to print a test page.

A real mystery.... Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thank you Mr Thompson.

The IP address had indeed changed.

Thank you again.
