HP LASERJET PRO M130FW
Other

Can anyone offer a suggestion?  I was printing and my  laserjet 130f sort of stalled when I had to flip the page to print the other side.  After my fiddling unsuccessfully with the touch screen  when it did not print the second side the machine just finally shut itself off completely - no power.  It has stayed that way now for two weeks.  I have tried unplugging and replugging.  Tried  the remote trouble shooters - they all just say oops the the machine has to be turned on first.  Pushing the power button has no effect.  Is this thing toast or is there hope???  Thanks.

Start with the basic troubleshooting, I realize you may have already tried something similar, but humor me. First disconnect any usb or network cables from the printer and then disconnect the power cable. Leave cable unplugged for about five minutes. Make sure that cord is plugged directly into the wall and not into a surge protector or any kind of multi-outlet power strip as these devices can limit the amount of current that can reach the device. After 5 minutes, plug the device in and see if it powers up, listen close as a bad control panel can lead you to think the printer is bad when it is something else. If not, if you have a spare power cord try that. Most computers and monitors use the same cord so you can use one of those to test. We recently serviced a printer for a customer and amazingly, it was the cord that was bad, so it does happen. If it still does not power up, move it to a different outlet completely that you know works and test it there. If it does not power up then likely the device needs service either due to a bad power supply or other failed component.

Thanks to Repairatrooper I now have power to my printer!

I had already tried a few things but it hadn't occurred to me that the surge protector could be the problem.  I removed the power cord for five minutes, unplugged from the surge protector altogether and plugged into a wall outlet directly.  Seems to be fine now.
