Laserjet Pro M201DW
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

Since changing ISPs, the M201DW printer has not been able to connect to my computer.  I have tried a variety of solutions and eventually reset to the system and network default on my printer.

I tried to do the following after the reset.  I printed the Network Summary and confirmed that the device was

1) Uninstall the drivers, restart the computer, and reconnect "first time wireless set up" using the Easy Set up program.

2) I followed the prompts and plugged in the USB device.  It looks like it is setting up until it reaches 99% and then provides the following dialog box:

undefined

2) I tried to install the printer using a Wired Connection.  The same error arises.

Please assist.  Not sure what else to do.  I am not interested in setting up the printer for Direct Wireless set up because I want to connect over the network.

Thank you.  I would prefer a phone call to assist with how to resolve this issue.

Hi @Max_Bel,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are facing issues with your HP LaserJet Pro M201dw wherein it does not connect to the wi-fi network.

Let's go through a few steps that may help to fix this issue.

I suggest that you restore the printer to its factory defaults and then set up the printer on the wireless network.

Steps to Restore the Printer To Factory-Set Defaults:

1. On the product control panel, press the OK button to open the menus.

2. Open the following menus:

● Service

● Restore Defaults

The product automatically restarts.

Note: Restoring the factory-set defaults returns all of the product and network settings to the factory defaults. It
will not reset the page count, tray size, or language. It deletes any pages that are stored in the memory.

Now I suggest that you follow the steps in the link set up the unit on the Wi-Fi network: Setting Up the Printer for a Wireless or Wired Network

Let me know how this works.

You have a good day ahead.

Your solution is antiquated.  Mac is now Mojave 10.14.3.  Can you provide what to do to get my M201dw onto my home wireless.  I have tried everything.  It does fine on ether net, but I need the wireless connection.  Thanks, Kenny
