Hi,
In the middle of printing, I suddenly get the blue lines too. Checked the supply status and I'm at 50% Cyan. I've updated to latest firmware, reinstalled drivers, but nothing helps.
Here's the funny part. When I print a Supplies Status Page from the printer, everything is fine. But when printing from anything from Microsoft Office, I get the lines. Adobe Acrobat PDF is fine too.
Interestingly enogh, printing Word documents from my Dropbox works fine, but creating a new locally and printing give me this error.
Since this just happened in the middle of a print, I'm seriously wondering what's going on? Can it be that Microsoft and HP colaborate to add this intentionally to make us replace cartridges on a regular interval?
Any suggestions?
Obviously it's not a Cartridge issue.

Update: I rebooted my computer, started word and created a new document. Lines are gone.
I then open the document created 1h ago and printed that one. It produces lines.
Something is seriously corrupt here.
Edit: And after that I created another new document, and the lines are back.
Edit 2: Okay, now I'm getting scared. I created a third new document and typed exactly what I typed on the first. It works fine. I then errased what I wrote and typed my name (need a quick name sign on my front door and typed what I did when the issue started), and printed it. The lines reappear. I then Ctrl +Z back to the original text and printed that again - no lines!
As a final check I left the original text and added my name. No lines. I then removed ones again the original text and left my name. LINES !
Edit 3: I did some more thorough testing and have concluded that it comes down to the color of what I'm printing. Plain B&W, I get the lines. Any typ of color (only has to be a single character) and it prints everything just fine.
I'm guessing a driver error or something? I'm on a fresh Windows 8.1 64-bit ENG installation. Used windows default drivers until the issue started. I've installed the HP drivers. Uninstalled them and reinstalled everything again. Nothing works. Any suggestions?

Hi! @Ajedesign, Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A great place where you can find solutions for your issues, with help from the community!
I understand when you print from your printer you are getting blue lines on the printouts.
Don't worry I'd like to help you out.
Did you make any changes to your printer?
Does the issue persist when you make a copy from your printer?
Have you tried printing from a different application or a different brand paper?
Please share the product number of your PC to assist you better.
As you mentioned when you print from your printer you are getting blue lines on the printouts.
Try few steps recommended below.
If there are no issues copying from your printer. Try uninstalling the drivers from root level from your PC and install the full feature printer software.
In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
Select your HP printer.
Select Uninstall.
In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
Click on Drivers tab.
Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.
Select OK.
Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
Close Devices and Printers.
Update the full feature printer software using this link: https://hp.care/2s93BC9
If the issue persists while making a copy from your printer try cleaning the ink cartridges and check if it helps.
Use the printer control panel to clean the ink cartridges, and then evaluate the results.
note:
To avoid issues that require cleaning, always turn the printer off with the Power button.
1.Load plain paper into the input tray.
2.On the printer control panel, swipe the display to the left, and then touch Setup.
3.Touch Tools, and then touch Clean Cartridges.
4.The printer performs the automated cleaning process and then prints a Print Quality Diagnostic page.
•If the print quality is acceptable, you can stop troubleshooting.
•If the print quality is unacceptable, touch OK for a Second-level Cleaning when prompted to continue the next level of cleaning.
note:
If the ink cartridge nozzles are badly clogged, it might require another cleaning cycle. If so, wait 30 minutes before you perform both levels of cleaning again.

Hi,
I'm not sure you read my posts and just added a default solutions reaply, but none of the suggestions solves my issue. Please explain why printing B&W all of a sudden gives me blue lines on the paper, but printing with just a single character in color prints nice clean papers?
My printer is the HP M551 attacked to an Intel X99 custom built based machine.
