Me too!  Add me to the list of people having admin password issues.

I have had this printer (for home use) several months and am having some odd issues with it.  I dont use it that often so I am still learning.  Just today it started requesting an admin password be entered before I can do anything.  I dont have the password and dont recall having one.  --And I write down EVERY password, passcode, etc. in a book.

I am beginning to think this printer has gremlins.  Just Kidding!

Thanks!

Thank You for your quick response.  I tried this twice and it did not work.  I understand why the sales clerk at Staples suggested the extended warranty and said there are a lot of problems with these all in one printers.  Any other ideas?

Hello @Cocopuff55

Try this reset fpr the unit

1- Power Down

2 - Power Up

3 - Wait until you see the energy logo

4 - Press and hold the lower right hand portion of the display

5 - You can release when you see "permanent storage init"

Although I am an HP employee, I am speaking for myself and not for HP.

but did you get to see the permanent message or not ?

Or was it that you saw it and did the reset but didnt remove the password?

I did as instructed twice, however the message did not come up.  System initialized.  It still asks for passwords.

OK, I tried this a third time.  This time I held down longer, UNTIL the phrase came on the screen.  I believe this fixed my printer issue.

Thank You!!!!!!!
