HP LaserJet 1536dnf mfc
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear HP Support Community,

I've installed the latest full-featured driver & software for my HP LaserJet 1536dnf mfc on a Windows 10 64-bit PC. Unfortunately the HP Scan app does not include a "Scan to OCR option"

Just prior to the installation the HP setup app indicated that the I.R.I.S. OCR software would be installed, and when the install completed, I could see the IRIS OCR install on the hard drive. ( I think in C:\HP\ or in C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\ )

I've also tried uninstallaing the printer driver with the printui app, followed by a reboot, and then a re-installation of thefull-featured driver & software, but with no success.

Any ideas?

Sincerely,

Paul Neralich

Did a search of the harddrive show that IRIS was installed? It may just not have linked to the HP app. Have you checked the support site for a stand alone installation of IRIS?

Yes, I've now confirmed that the IRIS software was installed to:

C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\IrisOCR_12.3.6.6

I agree that it must not have been "linked" to the HP software.

Unfortunately stand alone copies of IRIS are not free. This is for a school district, so budget-issues are preventing me from purchasing anything right now 😞

This had been setup and working on this user's prior PC running Windows 7. Her new PC is running Windows 10, but we-re unable to provide the same OCR capability through HP that she enjoyed with her old PC.
