Laser Jet CP5225
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

All I want to do is print 11x17, and use tray 2.  The setup printout said it is a CP5225n and the HP doctor software said it is refurbished. It's hooked up to my Dell PC by USB 2 cable.  Will be connecting remotely to similar Dell PC.  Having problems with paper size and printing.  Seems to keep saying I have 12x18.  Also what driver should I use? Thanks

Check the compatibility list for the Universal Print driver and if the 5225 is listed, use the Universal driver. Check the paper size settings on the machine as I am not 100 percent sure that this model auto-detects, which means you need to set the page size through the menus. Also make sure all the paper guides in the tray are on the right place.

So I downloaded the universal print driver PCL6 december 2019 to my home and work PC's.

I can print 11x17 from home PC now.  But remotely it keeps saying 12x18 and only will print

on 1 side of the 11x17.

From my home PC, the print test page is perfect, and even in color.

But I can't print anything in color.  The allow color printing is set to yes on the printer.

Maybe it's the driver, but I can't print in color, which would be nice to be able to do.

I'm sure some setting or the driver is wrong.

Driver may have not detected that printer is color. On PC go to control panel>devices and printers and then right click printer icon and select printer properties.  Click device settings tab and scroll down to find device type and change to color from auto or monochrome.

What method are you using to access the printer via remote?

Using remote desktop connection, I can print 8 1/2 x 11 pages  or reduced size 11x17 drawings to my brother laser 8 1/2 x 11 printer.  But now, when working remotely on work PC, I have to download the 11x17 pdf file and e-mail to

my self.  Next, log off work PC and then print to my new HP CP 5225 printer from my home PC in order to get a 11x17 print.

When trying that remotely from my work PC, it won't print the whole 11x17 sheet.  And before printing, it says

12x18 even if I select 11x17.   I have the same driver on home and work PC, so it must be some setting on my

work PC that isn't right.  Thanks for the help.
