My HP Color Laserjet Pro M545dn toner won't stick to cardstock. I've tried every paper setting (ex. cardstock, heavy , mid-weight, brochure matte, and so on) but it starts fine at the top of the page and then slowly gets worse as it moves down to the bottom.

?
Perhaps your cardstock is meant for an Inkjet printer?
Not sure if this is a "thing" - Inkjet printers do not like Laserjet paper at all so it may be the same the other way 'round, as well.

I don't think that's it. It worked great until I got a new printer. I had a M541dn and it worked just fine. I printed business cards and post cards perfectly. Now that I have a new printer it doesn't work. Any other ideas to help would be great.

The stock may simply be too heavy for the printer to bond properly. The maximum paper rating on this printer is 220gm. Are you setting the paper type on the driver or the printer itself. Did you notice that the printer went slower when you had the cardstock setting on? If not then it was not set properly. Set for cardstock or other heavy media the printer will run less than 1/2 it's normal speed.
