I had trouble lately and reset my output settings and now I can't get the old settings back. I don't see how to print in color. Somehow it gets stuck on presets.
I thought I would just reinstall the printer and in the process of doing that, I have lost my wireless set up. What a mess!

Hi @communitygirl,
Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.
Thank you for posting your query, I'll be more than glad to help you.
I understand that you cannot print in color from your HP LaserJet Pro 200 color Printer M251.
Let's go through a few steps that may help to fix this issue.
And here are a few steps in the link: Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues
If the issue persists, then I suggest that you reset the printing systems by following the steps in the link: Resetting the Printing System (Mac)
Let me know how this works.
You have a good day ahead.

No help, just sympathy - I'm in the same boat, I really want to be able to print in color and can't. I haven't reinstalled the printer but perhaps that's next.
Someone did suggest printing the color status page and if that's black and white, it's not the settings. Mine prints in black and white, which apparently means either (1) it can't be fixed at all or (2) there's some other way to fix it, other than the settings, that I haven't been able to find. But the printer is old enough that HP support won't even let me ask.

Resetting the printer worked but the print function is stuck on "Preset" and I don't see how to get back to the settings that I used to use - where I would be able to select print in color or black and white.

Hi Lisa in Oregon, resetting the printer (as the HP person advised) worked! It took a while to respond to clicking inside the printer window but it finally responded to shift + click or alt + click or Ctrl + click.
It solved the wireless issue and also printing in color.

The thread on this forum gets cluttered and hard to follow. I'm still trying to figure out how to go back to the original print settings and eliminate the PRESET settings. Does anyone at HP know how to do this?
