HP COLOR LASERJET PRO M252DW
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Dear all,

Before I purchase  a HP COLOR LASERJET PRO M252DW I would like to know if one or all color toners are empty it's still possible to keep printing black/white without having the obligation to replace one or all the color toners.

In other words: does the printer also stop printing black/white when one or all of the color toners are totally empty?

We mainly print black/white, want the possibility to print color but don't want a printer that stops or continiously warns when one or all color toners are empty.

Hope someone has an answer!

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Marcel

If you mainly print B/W then you might need two printers. (saves money in the long run)

Remember all color LaserJets use up color toner for calibrations so you will eventually need to replace the color cartridges even if you only print B/W.

As I understand it, the printer will eventually stop working once a color cartridge has been emtpy for too long. You could also risk damaging the transfer belt, if said empty cartridge were to lock up due to being run empty past its life cycle.

I am not a HP employee. I am a service tech on these forums researching topics and offering my best guess to aide in your troubleshooting.
