I have occasion to print and copy sensitive documents. It is not good if the printer retains those images. Does the lazerjet m1212nf MFP multifunction printer permanently store images?

Hi @tom910,
Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums After reading your post I see that you require assistance with checking if the printer stores files permanently. I will be a delight to assist you here.:)
Superb analysis and brilliant diagnosis of the issue before posting. 🙂 Kudos to you on that score. 🙂
For better clarity and to assist you better I would require more information regarding this:
- Did you check the printer’s user manual?
- Did you check the software technical manual?
For now please try these steps:
Please check the printer’s user manual: http://hp.care/2viVchB Nowhere is it mentioned that the printer stores files.
Printer Software Technical Reference: http://hp.care/2wgY0aF Even here it is not mentioned that the printer stores information or data.
- It is stored temporarily for printing and when the printer is powered off, the stored data is lost and nothing is stored.
- Even if another file is sent to the printer for printing the previous file is erased from the printer’s memory.
- So in effect, every time you print something the previous file is erased and is lost on the printer.
Hope this answers your question.
Please perform all these steps patiently as it is critical to resolving the issue. The trick is to remain patient, Going by your technical expertise and competence I am sure you will be able to perform these steps without breaking a sweat. 🙂
Let me know how it goes and you have a great day!
