Envelopes will no longer print from the tray which tilts out from the front, where you adjust the holder to the size of the envolope. I usually had to tap the manual print button, but it worked until recently.
I recently moved to a Windows 10/64 computer. But I think the envelope print was working with the new system recently.
I tried to install the latest drivers, but the install halts at the screen where you reconnect the USB connector. I tried it in both USB3 and USB2 sockets.
Seems to print fine otherwise.
Many thanks for any advice.

I believe you mean the manual feed tray.

If the printer installation wizard cannot advance on the hardware connection screen then the printer is not making contact with the PC. Check the USB cable on both ends to make sure it is correctly seated on teh PC and the printer. Check Device Manager to make sure USB connections appear and dissapear each time you plug in the USB cable and remove it. No activity in Device Manager confirms there is no physical connection.

If the printer is accepting print jobs over USB on the 2nd tray then you may have a simple tray configuration issue with the primary tray. Print off a configuration page from the control panel of the printer. Review how the trays are set up for Paper Size and Paper Type. Manual feed trays are normally set to Any Size/Any Type by default which means if there is any paper loaded at all the printer will attempt to pull from that tray first. Setting the paper size or type to something different will result in alternative logic on the printer when its time to print which is not likely what you want. Easy fix here is to reset the printer to the defaults from teh control panel. That will set tray 1 back to Any/Any.
