HP MFP 179 fnw
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Hello everybody.

Does anyone know how to factory-reset the MFP 179 fnw?

My problem is that the printer continues to initialize.

Appear on the screen the following:

System Initialize

Warming up

Ready to Copy

Phone

System Initialize

and so on in a loop

if I try to turn it off it won't turn off.

Help me

Thanks

Try these to see if it helps.

1. With power on unplug power cable and waiting  for 1 minute then keep pressing the power button for 30 seconds (still with power cable unplugged).  Plug power cable back and power on M179 to see if it helps.

2. Perform NVRAM

Select and hold the up arrow and the Cancel buttons simultaneously. Keep them depressed as you turn the printer on.
NOTE: It takes about 45 seconds before the NVRAM initialization process begins.

When the Permanent Storage Init. message appears on the display, release the right-arrow and the Cancel buttons.
When the printer has ƭnished the NVRAM initialization, it returns to the Ready state.

3. If all these steps above fail then you may have a bad formatter needed to be replaced.

No, it doesn't work!

The strange thing is the word Phone on the screen.
After this writing appears, the initialisation phase starts again. 😞

Sorry for another question:

With "up arrow" you means the Menu Button?

Thank you so much for your replay
