Laserjet 4000N printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

With the latest Windows 10 patch, my laserjet 400N is no longer listed among my printers.  I tried to reinstall the printer, but it is no longer listed in the "Windows Update" data base.  I tried alternative printer drivers (4050, 4100) but neither worked.  I realize there were some printer problems in the last patch, but can anyone confirm that is the problem with the 4000N drivers, or is it no longer being supported.

Use this link ->

http://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=HP%20Laserjet%204000

Download the 2nd file at the top of the page
Install a tool like 7zip
http://www.7-zip.org/

After you install 7-Zip, right click on the printer driver you downloaded and extract it to a folder

Then use the add printer wizard to install your HP LaserJet 4000 printer, when you get to where you need to install the driver, click on Have Disk and browse to the driver folder you extracted , choose -> prnhp001, and select the HP LaserJet 4000 Series PCL6 printer from the list and the driver should install

I have  tried that file and a number of others trying to find a working driver.

that particular file is not a *.ZIP file but is a *.CAB file.  I did open  this *.CAB file

but it doesn't work.

If you are connecting via network try using the Universal Print Driver PCL5. It should still support the 4000.
